Burles & Co is a sales and marketing consultancy run by Steve Burles. This notice explains what personal information we collect through burlesand.co, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

What information we collect
The site is a single page and has no contact form or account area. We collect personal information in three ways.
- When you book a call. The booking button takes you to a scheduling page run by HubSpot. It asks for your name, email address and any details you choose to add, such as your company and what you would like to talk about. The booking is then stored in our calendar and in HubSpot.
- When you contact us directly. If you email or message us, including through LinkedIn, we keep what you send and our replies.
- Technical information. Like any website, the site’s host receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Loading the site’s fonts from Google Fonts also sends your IP address to Google.
We do not knowingly collect information about children, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information.
How we use your information
We use personal information only for the purposes below, and we rely on the lawful basis shown.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the services we need to run the business, and only for the purposes above.
- HubSpot, which runs the booking page and our calendar, and stores booking details on our behalf.
- Our website host, Clook, which hosts and serves the site.
- Google, which supplies our email (through Google Workspace) and the fonts the site loads.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant, where we need their advice.
The site links to LinkedIn and to other organisations. If you follow those links, their own privacy notices apply.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of the services above, including HubSpot and Google, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards the law recognises, such as the UK’s approved transfer mechanisms or an adequacy decision, as set out in those providers’ own terms.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it.
- Enquiries and call bookings where no work follows: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client records and proposals: for the length of the engagement and six years after it ends, to meet accounting and legal needs.
- Business and tax records: for the period the law requires.
When the time is up we delete the information or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
- ask for your information in a portable format, where it applies

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. The booking page is run by HubSpot and may set cookies of its own, which are covered by HubSpot’s cookie notice. Links to LinkedIn and other sites may also set cookies once you leave this page.
If we add analytics or other cookies later, we will ask for your consent first and update this section.

We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last changed: 29 October 2026.
